  1. Reza's Birthday Surprise at UNISSULA

UNISSULA invited us to craft batik together with Rotterdam University, Netherlands. We only planned for Reza's surpise but this event made it a lot better. It was as if the entire world was there to witness his birthday. Think about it, you have representatives from the Philippines and the Netherlands bruh. His reaction was also priceless, I could see his sincere appreciation with our gifts and effort.

  2. Personal Farewell with Student Buddies

For one last time, our student buddies Reza and Syafrah visited our accommodation. I really appreciated the effort, especially since it was pouring and they rode a motorcycle. They arrived soaked from the rain. As a form of reciprocity, Rogie and I also walked from the accommodation to Indomaret to buy some food. We tried ordering through Grab, but unfortunately, no motorcycle drivers were available at that time. It was fine, though—we still had our final late-night talks with them about random things.

  3. Cultural Trip No. 2 at Gedong Songo

I described the place in the feature of this website but for my experience, I would say that we truly bonded with Mr. Rio at this trip. Mr. Rio is a director, and a doctor but he never imposed those positions with us. He treated us as if we were friends. HE TREATED US AS IF WE WERE HIS FAMILY. I'm glad that we took a lot of photos with him, he is like a father to us. He also joined us in a video reel: https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ_riMYSuin/. Aside from this, we met a cool taxi driver who is a lady and a vlogger. The road was steap, and she drove with one hand on the steering wheel, and her one hand taking a video.

  1. Teaching at SMP Al Azhar 14

I witnessed the Muslim and Javanese values instilled in the high school students. They were very polite and highly participative. Adapting to an unfamiliar environment could be a challenge but the thought that everyone in the school is also adjusting to us makes this task easier. The headmaster, the teachers, and even the canteen ladies are very nice. They teach us strategies on how we could become a better educator in a multicultural setting. Other than that, I value the fact that the headmaster, all of our cooperating teachers, and the faculty that were involved in our internship visited Marlowe when he got discharged from the hospital.

  2. Stealing Prank by Marlowe

We had dinner outside and were walking back to our accommodation. I was busy with my phone, and my companions kept reminding me to focus on the road. Their warnings made me more alert, but as we continued walking, Marlowe fell behind. Suddenly, someone grabbed my phone and ran. It was too dark to see their face clearly. I screamed like crazy—only to realize it was Marlowe playing a prank. We all ended up laughing it off. We could not move one from this prank for three days.
